Khohar
Khohar is very olden village
situated in district Gujrat. It is almost eighteen kilo meter far from
Sarai Alamgir. Nehar upper jhelum is its eastern side and the river
Jhelum flow its western side. Khohar is divided into various "Mohallas"
and "Dhoke". i.e. Dhoke Baba Hafiz Jee, Dhoke Shamali, Dhoke Baba
Hussain Shah, Mohllah Maki Masjid, Mohallah Malkana, etc. Khohar
devided into two main parts, Khohar Khurad and Khohar Kalan.
A big Discovery:
In Kharian "Pubi" range
near the Khohar found Ancient Monuments. Population of
olden khohar lived here hundreds years ago. pottery , bricks, bones,
fossils and coins founds here. Coins belongs to Nasir Ud Din
who was the Muslim Turkic ruler and eighth Sultan of Dehli of
medieval
India during
the
Mamluk (or
Slave dynasty). according to Wikipedia Sultan Nasir-ud-Din 's

Nasir ud din Mahmud,
Nasir ud din Firuz Shah (1246-1266)
was a
Muslim
Turkish ruler
and the eighth
Sultan of Delhi
of medieval
India during
the
Mamluk (or
Slave dynasty). He was the youngest son of
Shams ud din Iltutmish
(1211-1236),
and he succeeded
Ala ud din Masud
after the chiefs replaced Masud when they felt that he began to
behave as a
tyrant.
As a ruler, Mahmud was
known to be very religious, spending most of his time in prayer and
renown for aiding the poor and the distressed. However, it was
actually his Deputy Sultan or Naib,
Ghiyas ud din Balban,
who primarily dealt with the state affairs. After Mahmud's death in
1266, Balban
(1266-1287)
rose to power as Mahmud had no children to be his heir.
His fortified tomb built by
Iltutmish in
1231, known
as Sultan Ghari, lies in the
Vasant Kunj
area, close to
Mehrauli, in
New Delhi.
The octagonal tomb chamber, is one of finest examples of
Mamluk dynasty
architecture, which also include the
Qutub Minar.
